DATA VISUALIZATION DESIGN
In the new Big Data age, an important part of the skills for a UI / UX Designer is learning how to visualize data. Today almost all businesses require effective data analysis to be used as a tool for deciding the course of operation and making decisions. The better the results of visualizing the generated data, the more suitable the user would be to make the decisions. Sharing useful data in an easy-to-consume format can help if you are trying to keep users engaging with your app.
INFORMATION IS BEAUTIFUL
Visualizing information so we can see the pattern that matter and designing that information so it makes more sense, to tell the story or allows us to focus on information that is only important. Colors are used in data visualization where color acts as a motivation that make action to occur.
BY IMPROVING DATA VISUALIZATION DESIGN, YOU IMPROVE THE APP’S ENGAGEMENT.
Data visualization is what people are afraid of. It contains huge numbers of data, spreadsheets and graphs and making sense of all of it is hard. To carry out the data visualization process efficiently one have to be perfect in numbers. Dashboard design is one of the example of data visualization design.
Moving from big chunks of Data in to something meaningful:
First we look at the brief and the context. We visualize what the data is for. Looking at the range of the data and check if there is anything interesting or strange that pops out which need to kind of accommodate in the design. Thinking about categories in the chunk of data and the level of complexity. Basically being familiar with data in a sort of casual way and think about what visualization methods can be used to visualize those data.
There are many ways to visualize the data. We can always pick one and conclude if that is the right one or not a right one. The most important process is to validate that the way we are using to visualize the data is right. Not every single type of data set inside a every single type of data visualization. Suppose, if you only have a ten numbers you can not create a complex network. Once we get familiar with data then it leaves down a few paths. Then if we want to came up with new visualization idea we can came uo with pencil sketching before moving on screen. Then after moving to screen we move on to like fake date (data for test only). This is to check if the data visualization process will work digitally. Then we began to bring actual data into that process and keep refining it.
Data Visualization is the integral part in any website or apps that deals with a whole bulk of massive data. There are several types of data visualization: Bar Charts, Maps, Line Charts, Pie chart, Gauges and many more. After preparing data visualization using any process test and listen feedback and move accordingly.
Thus, Data Visualization is the process where we convert a bulks of data in to easy-to-consume format.
